Making Offers & Negotiating

Found a load you want to haul? This is how offers, chat negotiation, and deal acceptance work on Pickup2 — for both carriers submitting offers and shippers deciding on them.

For Carriers: Submit an Offer

Open the freight

From the Marketplace, click the freight you're interested in to open its details page.

Click "Submit Offer"

You'll see an offer form on the right side (or at the bottom on mobile).

Submit Offer form

Enter your price

Type the price you're willing to accept and the currency. You can also add a short message to the shipper — e.g. "Can pick up today, truck already nearby."

Send it

Click "Send Offer". The offer goes to the shipper and a chat thread opens automatically so you can discuss details.

You can send more than one offer on the same freight if the shipper comes back with a counter — your latest offer replaces the previous one.

For Shippers: Review Offers

On your freight's details page, every offer appears with:

  • Carrier company name and rating
  • Offered price and currency
  • Message from the carrier (if any)
  • Actions: Accept, Reject, or Chat

Chat first

Open the chat to ask questions — pickup timing, truck specs, driver availability, documents, etc. A dedicated chat thread exists for every freight–carrier pair.

Reject

Not the right fit? Reject closes that carrier's offer. They'll be notified and can send a new one if they want.

Accept

When you're ready, click "Accept Offer". This turns the freight into a deal.

What Happens When an Offer Is Accepted

The accepted offer becomes a deal. The freight moves from "Published" to "In Progress", and it's no longer visible in the marketplace. Other carriers who offered are automatically notified that the load is gone.

Both sides now see the freight in their My Deals page, and the chat thread stays open for coordination (ETAs, documents, proof of delivery).

Chat Tips

Good Chat Etiquette

  • Respond quickly — in logistics, minutes matter.
  • Share driver name and phone number once the deal is confirmed.
  • Keep all communication in the Pickup2 chat — it's your record if anything goes wrong.
  • Send documents (CMR, proof of delivery) through chat attachments.

Offer States

StateWhat it means
PendingOffer sent, waiting for the shipper's decision
AcceptedShipper accepted — a deal is now in progress
RejectedShipper declined — you can send a new offer if the freight is still open
WithdrawnYou (the carrier) cancelled the offer before the shipper decided
ExpiredThe freight's pickup date passed without acceptance

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Can't submit an offer? Check you have "Add" permission on Freight Orders, and that your company is verified.
  • Can't accept an offer? The freight may already have been accepted on another offer, or the pickup window has passed.
  • Missing chat messages? Make sure browser notifications are enabled, and check the Chat section in the sidebar for the full thread.
