PickUp Coins

PickUp Coins is the platform's loyalty currency. You earn coins by being active — mostly by leaving ratings — and accumulate them in a balance attached to your company. They will be redeemable for discounts and premium features as those land; for now the focus is on earning and tracking.

Where to find it

Two places:

  • Dashboard — the PickUp Coins stat card in the top-right grid shows your current balance at a glance
  • Settings → Company → Coins — the full view with balance, totals and complete transaction history
The Coins tab in Settings

The Coins tab is visible to users with Full Access (Owners and equivalent). Other roles don't see it on the dashboard or in Settings.

What you'll see

The page is split into three areas:

Current balance

Big amber card with your live coin total, pulled directly from pickup-coins/balance. Updated whenever a transaction posts.

Total earned / Total spent

Two smaller cards (green and red) showing lifetime totals. Spent stays at 0 until redemption ships — see below.

Recent activity

Paginated transaction list grouped by date — every coin in or out of your account, with type, description, amount and the running balance.

How to earn coins

Coins are earned automatically — you don't claim them manually.

ActionReward
You give a rating to a counterparty after a deal+5 coins per rating
You receive a rating from a counterpartyVariable, scaled by the star count (1–5) — better ratings, more coins
Bonus / reward issued by supportVariable; rare, used for goodwill or compensation

The fastest path to coins is consistent rating. Both giving and receiving ratings drive earnings, so finishing deals cleanly and asking partners to rate you is the practical loop.

Reading the transaction list

Each row shows:

  • TypeRating given, Rating received, Bonus, Reward, Refund, or Expired
  • Description — auto-generated, e.g. „Earned 5 coins for rating a transaction"
  • Amount — green +5 for credits, red -N for debits
  • Balance after — what your total looked like immediately after this transaction
  • StatusCompleted (live) or Pending (rare; usually only briefly)
  • Date — relative for recent ones („2h ago"), absolute for older

The list paginates 50 entries at a time. Scroll the modal or use Load more to fetch older history.

Coin expiration

Coins have an expiry. The exact period is set per-reward by the platform — when coins do expire you'll see an Expired transaction in the list, deducting them from your balance.

There's no email or push reminder before coins expire (yet). Check the Coins tab quarterly if your balance matters to you. Expired coins cannot be restored.

Empty state

A new account with no activity sees:

  • A large muted coin icon
  • „No transactions yet"
  • „Start rating to earn coins!"

The balance reads 0 and earned/spent both stay at 0 until your first rating completes.

What's coming next

Some things in the data model exist but aren't wired up to a UI yet:

  • Redemption — using coins for discounts or premium features. The transaction type exists (purchase); the spend flow does not yet.
  • Top-up — buying coins with real money. Not currently available.
  • Signup or referral bonuses — not in the live earnings rules.

When these ship, this page will be updated with the exact flow. Until then, treat coins as an accruing balance you'll be able to spend later.

Common questions

Why don't I see the Coins tab?

You likely don't have the Full Access permission on this company. Owners see it automatically; other roles need it granted via Team & Permissions.

I rated a counterparty but the +5 isn't showing

The credit posts after the rating is finalized — refresh the Coins tab. If the rating is still in Pending status, the coin transaction will also be pending until it clears.

A „Bonus" appeared in my history — what is it?

Support occasionally issues manual coin credits — for goodwill after a problem, a platform-wide event, or compensation. The description on the row will explain why.

Can I transfer coins to another company?

No. Coins are tied to your company and can't be moved between accounts. They also can't be cashed out.
